Postby Ash Hol » Wed Jul 21, 2010 7:12 am

So I'm making a sad mix tape and I have up to 4:00 of room I can spare....but I cannot find anything to fill it with.

So I need a sad song under 4:00, preferably indie
the band cannot be MM, UC, death cab, dntel, figurine, james figurine, gregor samsa, Thee silver mt zion, maybeshewill, sigur ros, tim barry, her space holiday, built to spill, lite, wolf parade, sunset rubdown, radiohead

thanks in advanced

what about Mad World by Gary Jules? Or End of the World by Skeeter Davis? Beautiful songs.

sigh. there go all my favorite bands.
it's a little corny and not super indie but have you tried blue october? they have some of the most depressing music ever.
a good song under 4:00 is....
-HRSA
-Schizophrenia (it's actually 3 seconds over... probably trimmable)
-Into The Ocean (i know, very overplayed)
-Dirt Room

Something by Mogwai? But under 4 mins would be hard for them. Maybe Tuner?

Frightened Rabbit. They have lots of sad songs but a lot are just a touch over 4 minutes . But if you an spare an extra 15 seconds over 4 minutes i would go with:
Not Miserable
Foot Shooter
Floating In The Forth
Things
If you can spare an extra minute i would definitely recommend Yes I Would. Seriously, this is a really sad and really beautiful song.

Thanks for the input.....I couldnt decide on what track. I filled the space with Punkrock - Mogwai just as an....intermission type thing. Its not sad, its more angry but w/e. And now my mix tape is....sorta finished :p
