Can anyone suggest any good brands? I am tired of having to play my records in the basement on my dads record player lol.

If you know any that come with some kind of wood finish too that would be sweet.
Go reckless unharmed,
Yep, the shut-ins they're well armed!
Well we all led the charge,
`Til we ran aground in our party barge.

And every little gift was just one more part of their grift,
Oh yeah we know it!

First off Chief, awesome website-I've gotten so many cool things from you over the years, you're a service to our community!

Second, I highly recommend the Audio Technica PL-120. There's two versions, one with a built in USB output, and one without. I'd much rather have a standalone turntable connected to a pre-amp with usb output, just to avoid any problems with motor noise, but whatever floats your boat! It's can also be picked up for under $300, while still having all the goodies you'd look for in a turntable (s-arm, 33/45/78 speed, pitch adjustment, replaceable cartridge, etc.)

I realize this is an old post. Did you end up getting one yet?
