I'm not so sure the original pressings will go down in price. Maybe a little, but sellers always know that fans want the original.

On places like eBay its guaranteed to go down. I haven't seen many people put Modest Mouse vinyl up on ebay as "Buy It Now" auctions. Except for 7"'s. Most of the Rare MM vinyl are put up as auctions so the seller isn't setting a limit for the auction, and they are more guaranteed to sell it. They will still start it at a high price like 50 bucks or so, but it wont get as high because lots of people don't actually care if its the original pressing or not. As it is basically the same, just a different label.

I have already seen a huge drop on original pressings for M&A original pressings, from 2-3 hundred bucks to 50-80 bucks.

M & A is a little different though. If it was something like The Fruit That Ate Itself or Long Drive, which are a lot harder to find in the first place, I don't see how a significant price drop is going to happen in the first place.

Perhaps you're right. I guess we will see what happens. All I can say for sure is that I don't care if its original or reissued. :D

It was on the I8 news feed a couple months ago.

Also, added three more pictures

Either way, my preference is to have the original. Anyhoo, heck yeah to I8 on vinyl. I just bought Satellite Skin, Perpetual Motion Machine and Autumn Beds plus the digital beast shirt.

I emailed Sub Pop atleast 2 months ago about the Sharpen Your Teeth reissiue. I remember someone on here talked to Isaac via the GP email and he said he was going to send them the masters. Hopefully we'll see some news soon.

That was me, I posted all the emails I received in these forums. Somewhere.
I think the key thing here is to be patient. If you do email Isaac, then ask him what the hell is up with the (third) M&A reissue.

Gaaah I'm so happy for you!! For me, it became a total obsession... I've only been collecting for about 5 months and yet I have all this. And more to come. Not good for someone with not a lot of money. xP
(Speaking of which, my happy new find was that yesterday I walked into a record store, talked to the owner, an enthusiastic vinyl collector, and he said he could get me the M&A reissue for 25 bucks. So I put down a $2 deposit and he says that itll be in tomorrow. This will be my first offline vinyl purchase SQUEEEEE!)

Niiice. The one I'm perpetually after is Other People's Lives, as it always goes for just a bit more than I'm willing to pay at the time. Also it's one of my favorite songs.

So, I've kick started my Modest Mouse vinyl collection (I don't even have a record player) and so here it is minus one. I won't be able to do anything extracurricular for a month or so but it was worth it. Also, I think you guys are going to like the minus one that should be arriving in the week.
