Best quality bootlegs

Postby samedamnshirt » Fri Mar 27, 2015 2:59 pm

Hi,

Can anyone recommend the best Modest Mouse bootlegs (or Youtube links) in terms of both sound quality and instrumentation? Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks. :?:

As far as youtube shows go, here are my favorites:

9/26/01

8/15/02 (Infamous for its' Blame Yourself knife jam)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IkHdKXIY3s

5/9/98

I'm assuming youve heard Baron von Bullshit Rides again? If not check that out. Also, my favorite torrented live shows would have to be Austin City Limits (04), and their 1997 show at the Black Cat in Washington (not great quality, but still good for pre-2000. Hope this helped a bit.

This one has always been my favorite because it was my first show. The sound quality is pretty good too ;)

Also, this show has a great set list that is heavy on LCW material and includes some good jams on Cowboy Dan and Styrofoam Boots, as well as a Beta Carotene jam. Also, I love the reverberated vocals. I don't think this is a SBD, but it really sounds good. Overall, the feel of the show is pretty laid back and features MM as a trio.

@LongDriveInACar -- Thanks for the info. I've already listened to the 9/26/01 show and it was good stuff, going to move on to the others now. I have heard of Baron Von Bullshit Rides again, I got a free copy of it with a pre-order of I think Good News.

@sky-high -- Great American Music Hall 1998 eh? I'll check it out. That's sweet, both time and venue wise. I'm from the Bay Area and one of my crowning concert-going achievements is when I managed to see Kings of Leon at Slim's. 8-)

Inquiry Addendum: My favorite disc is probably Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks -- anyone know any great bootlegs or youtube shows that include a lot of this material? Thanks again.
