Private Show

Postby modestman14 » Wed Mar 25, 2015 2:48 pm

Hi everyone,

My friend and I were talking about trying to get MM to play a private show. Through some internet searching it appears they have/will do private shows for ~$100k. Is this something people have done/seen before? I think it would be an amazing experience for diehard fans and worth doing a KickStarter/GoFund for. Anyone interested? Thoughts/ideas? Thank you!

Do you think they would do whatever set-list they wanted or would take requests?

The best way to pitch it in my opinion would be to say that we came together as a devoted fan club and wanted to see them one time together. Then before we send a formal request - we poll together and obtain a list of the top songs we all want to hear and ask/beg them to play any and all.

Isn't the advantage of a private show that you would limit the number of attendees? So if the show costs $100k and you want to limit it to 100 people, that's $1000 per ticket.

100 people seems really small. I was thinking a few hundred. And $100k is a figure found online..who knows, maybe they'd do it for less if they knew it was for folks like us.

also need $$$ for the venue rental. Your backyard is probably not big enough?

I definitely know places that would love to host a show like this at low cost. Could swing my backyard but would have to let neighbors know first.

I'd pay $1k a ticket if I had a guarantee that we would get every album performed in its entirety along with a post show mushroom experience with the band.

It's good to have dreams  But in reality, I can't see them doing a private show with a predetermined setlist... Don't know of many artists that would agree to that. I imagine 80% of our requests would be obscure songs that haven't been played live in minute and would require quite a bit of rehearsing.

I'd counter with $25,000 and see what happens.
