I've tried to get into Arctic Monkeys on and off the past half decade..... I know they are a good band but for some reason I just don't dig them. :|

Try miles Kane, he's a real good friend of AM and just released his solo album and it's amazing.
You should also try the last shadow puppets which consist of miles Kane and frontman Alex turner from AM.

I loved their first album when it first came out, but I haven't been able to get into anything by them since. I do really like the Last Shadow Puppets album though.

yeah I can see why you like their first album the most, it's defently the got the most dancehall [ :D ] type of music. Suck it and see is my favorite though, the lyrics in that album are unbelievable, I have no idea how Alex writes stuff like the hellcat spangled shalalala and piledriver waltz, it's crazy.

I really like that Miles Kane song you posted, fucking epic actually! 'You rearrange minds!' Good stuff there.

That song by Last Shadow Puppets is golden too. I enjoyed both very much, thank you.

I'm going to look up both some more and give AM another go 'round. Hopefully this time I 'get it'. Like I said, I know they are good I just haven't been able to relate or feel what they are getting at. I do however spect them and I'm glad they exist. 8-)

Yeah no problem, I'm glad to spread good music.
Sadly though miles won't be coming on a U.S. tour until his second album is out :(. But as for TLSP they said they might be doing some stuff soon and at one of the gigs televised in Paris Alex and miles preformed standing next to me, I almost had a heart attack. Hopefully they will come to the U.S.

Also if anyone has ever got into the libertines or Pete Doherty there is some exciting news.
The libs are releasing some new songs, babyshambles are making another album, and Pete and Carl might get back togeather!

I hadn't really heard much of AM's stuff before I saw them with The Black Keys on 5/1. They came out blasting and had strobe lights on for their first few songs.

I can't remember the exact setlist because I didn't know many of their songs, but I believe Brainstorm was the first song. They blew me the fuck away. When I got home I bought a bunch of their stuff online and haven't listened to much else. Definitely climbing my list of favorites.

What I really loved about them was how it really looked like they had a lot of fun on stage. The drummer had a smile on his face the entire time and kept flipping his sticks up in the air and trying to catch them. He only caught it once or twice and eventually the lead singer came over and caught one for him, lol. They sounded better live, which is not something I can say about a lot of bands I've seen.

You're going to be a super fan be for you know it.
I went to go see them with the black keys and was about the only one singing along and the guy next to me said holy fuck you're a fan girl because right before every song, I was able to call them out.
Anyway, this is my least favorite era right now because all Alex says is "fooking" and they haven't changed much of their set list latley. The drummer, Matt helders, is one of the most underrated drummers of all time. The stuff that he plays on those things are unbelieveble. For example: Brianstorm, pretty visitors, the hellcat spangled shalalala (you have to be able to multi task really well to play hellcats, it's a good slower pop tune but the beat is craz). And yes I agree they are much better live, the energy is just there.

I love their first 2 albums, the 3rd I couldn't get into and I do like the last one. I saw them with The Black Keys and they were great. While The Black Keys were playing, AM were standing out on the floor watching them. I got a couple pictures of them from where I was sitting/standing.
