Port of Morrow by The Shins

Postby President of Antarctica » Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:34 pm

I recently revisited the first three Shins albums after finding out they had another album on the way. Quite an evolution. I'm still recovering from the amazing sounds on Wincing The Night Away. There is something extemely mystical about Mercer's lyrics. They blend the human condition and esoteric imagery very well. These two new songs off the new record are pretty promising: http://simplesong.theshins.com/

Can't wait for March 20th! Also, The Head and The Heart's song 'Lost In My Mind': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjoA4nYBD5U&ob=av2e
Amazing.

The Head And The Heart's sing 'Rivers and Roads'. Perfection!
Saw them play last month in Sydney, they were fantastic. Such an amazing live band.

The only thing I know of is their self titled LP. That song is on it and the whole record is pretty much that damn great.

President of Antarctica: as far as I know, The Shins don't have a self-titled LP. Maybe you mean Oh, Inverted World? There's also a song by Flake Music (precursor to The Shins) called The Shins.

EDIT: Apparently there's a compilation called The Shins: http://www.discogs.com/Shins-The-Shins/release/3281197

Is that what you're referring to?

No, I was talking about The Head & The Heart and their self-titled LP. I know The Shins albums. ;) Thanks though.
